  1. Take two cups of hot water in a large bowl.
  2. Mix in 2-3 spoons of salt.
  3. Soak your hands in the bowl for 10 minutes.
  4. You can use a pumice stone, nail file or a similar tool to aid the exfoliating process.

How To Fix Yellow Nails

Lemon Juice

The wonderful juice found inside lemons has citric acid and vitamin C, two ingredients that fight against yellow nails. Citric acid lifts existing stains while vitamin C works to whiten nails.
 
  1. Take the juice from half a lemon, or get a tablespoon of ready-made lemon juice.
  2. Mix it with a cup of warm water in a bowl.
  3. Soak your nails in the mixture for 10-15 minutes.
  4. Once you’re done, buff them with the remaining pulp/ residue.

How To Strengthen Nails

Vitamin E + Honey

Have you got weak and brittle nails that can never grow past a certain length? If so, you’ve got to give this recipe a try.
 
  1. Put a spoon of almond or vitamin E oil into a small bottle or tube.
  2. Add in about 1/2 a teaspoon of honey and stir it well.
  3. Apply the mixture all over your nails and let it sit for 20 minutes. You can even use this as an overnight treatment, and put gloves on your hands.
  4. Rinse it off at the end.

How To Prevent Nails From Breaking

Apple Cider Vinegar

Our favourite, apple cider vinegar doesn’t just make nails stronger, but also helps with discolouration, excessive breakage and infections!
 
  1. Get 1 part of apple cider vinegar with 1-2 parts of water (depending on how strong you want it to be).
  2. Place your hands and/or feet in the solution for around 15 minutes, or as long as you can.
  3. Pat dry with a towel and make sure to moisturise afterwards.

How To Boost Nail Growth

Olive/Coconut Oil

I’m sure many of us are familiar with the extensive moisturising capabilities either of these two oils has.
 
Personally, I like to use olive oil on my hands and feet as a daily treatment, every night before I go to bed. However, coconut oil is a great alternative too.
 
  1. Add 100% pure extra virgin coconut or olive oil to a dropper bottle.
  2. You can additionally mix in a few drops of vitamin E oil or lavender oil. (Optional)
  3. Put a drop on each nail, taking in a few minutes to thoroughly massage the product.
  4. Leave it on overnight, this should be easy as the oil will dry off in a short while.
